At first I thought that FatCow was the best out there...then things started happening.
They boast of easy Drag and Drop design...but don't mention you can only use it on one domain. This is fine if you only have one but for us we had two and had to try and find a second web design program within their service...not easy. Not customizable. Not user friendly. Customer service was great until you had a real problem. Was hung up and disconnected by their reps 4 times before I finally got mad and explained if they hung up again my service would be transferred to someone else who knew what a hold button was and not the disconnect. All premium services are non refundable and add ons are non refundable even if they don't work or suit your business requirements.
I really like FatCow. I work for a company that does all things website related. 24/7 support and folks who will answer your questions honestly and will really help you out. Whether it's answering questions on the backend or a question on e-commerce they'll answer it. It's a fair price too.
Something we tell our clients. Sure, you may decide to find a hosting company that's free. And that is exactly what you will get when you have a question about your site or something happens to it. You won't have the support you need. Be smart, pay a small amount upfront and be kind to yourself.
As web designer I tried many different hosts and found that there's no perfect one. However, FatCow does a really good job. They are honest with you… each time I call their support I get someone from North America. I had to cancel couple accounts with FatCow since my clients didn't need them – never had a problem, got my money back. Strongly recommend.
FatCow is an excellent web hosting company. They actually pick up the phone when you call and respond with helpful, satisfactory answers. I highly recommend them for your personal or business needs.
