GoDaddy Reviews

The customer service at GoDaddy.com could not be worse or less interested in working with you or your business. Our tech guy had set us up with them but I've had to speak directly with their staff recently and today. Over this time I have spoken to about six different people--each of them indifferent and not interested in solving a problem--even when it is based in their policies! Do not use this company if you can help it. I just want to know how quickly I can get rid of them!

I have been my current web host for over a decade. I just recently attempted to set up a web site using Godaddy. So far it has NOT been a good experience. I am minutes away from cancelling and going back to my old host. I just want it to work. Cheap dont mean crap if you cant make it work.

I cannot recommend Godaddy to anyone who runs a business website. They can be cheap but it's not worth the hassle dealing with billing or technical problems with their reps and these problems will arise.

I have websites hosted at 3 companies. I only have problems with Godaddy, both with billing and technical problems. The other 2 hosting companies I use are problem free as far as I can remember.

Godaddy billing practices are nasty and their people incompetent. They automatically opt you in for auto renewal of the services that you don't use and therefore don't pay attention to their charges. AND they shutdown your whole account/site even when one service charge is cancelled and even when the rest is fully paid for in advance. Their server speed deteriorates to the point of unusable and they have no answer. Go to their forum and read the complaints about slow Godaddy hosted websites. Just incredible.

I have very fast internet. But the GoDaddy designing pages are slow, slow, slow. the publishing can be slow, slow, slow. Did I say slow?
I like to use different fonts but when I change a couple of lines to one font, other fonts default to Arial. I hate Arial.
I wrote a forum saying I was having trouble with default fonting, and some fonts even completely disappeared. I got upgraded to the latest # designer ware, whatever, and still get the default fonting, and still adding anything to a page is SLOW, and publishing a few new items can be SLOW. did I say SLOW???????

Everything was going well until.....About a year ago I decided rather than using my internet provider's email that is free I would purchase my own domain so I would not have to deal with the hassle of changing email addresses if I decide to switch providers which I have been known to do. I found godaddy and purchased a domain and 5 email addresses. I didn't need anything major, just an email for each member of my family. Everything was going well, email was being received and sent with no issues. I recently started recieving messages that it was time to renew. I finally sat down to do it, renewing the emails but not the domain. I figure that I would never create a website so why would I need a domain. WRONG, what I didn't know is that you can not have one without the other. Which is surprising that they would allow me to renew the email with no alert or better yet rejection of my order. So I continue recieving the renewal messages, which I did nothning about because as far as I was concerned I renewed what I needed. Today I realized that I was not receiving messages so I called Godaddy and was told that my domain was canceled and that in order to get it back I have to pay an $80 redemption fee. Was also told that I could not access my email without it. I asked if there was anyway to get in an forward my messages out and of course the not very helpful child on the phone says no. She goes on to explain the process something about the domain will go out on some auction block and open to the public once again on January 1st. I am so new to all of this. Does anyone have any advice for me? Is ther anyway to renew with someone else and get back my same domain and email without paying the ridiculous redemption fee?

I would not recommend this hosting company ever. Your site is always going down due to a server error. It would be nice to have customer support to call using a toll free phone number. The products and programs you get with your hosting plan don't compare with what you can get with other hosting companies.

Go Daddy is the worst host to use. Service is terrible and always having problems. Every time the fools send me an email the email goes down. Do not call them they just tell you you do not have an account and say they cannot help you even when you give the fools your customer number. Changing as fast as I can.

BAD BAD BAD service.
