GoDaddy Reviews

by Former Go Daddy Customer on November 10th, 2011 at 12:15 PM CST
Go Daddy used to be a decent shop, but they've devolved into an uncaring, unresponsive corporate machine, exploiting any trust they've built to rip off customers.

Go Daddy no longer has anything resembling actual customer service. If you have a problem with Go Daddy (chances are high that you will, and chances are high it will involve you being ripped off) don't expect a meaningful response from Go Daddy.

After Go Daddy rips you off, here's what you can expect when you call their Bureaucratic Stonewalling Department -- a robotic, script-reading operator, utterly uninterested in doing anything but blindly executing Go Daddy's inflexible policy regime.

History has shown that treating customers like people is what grows a business. Nonetheless, Go Daddy has succumbed to the myth that treating customers like numbers yields the highest probability for maximum profit.

Go Daddy rips off customers and treats them like numbers. Don't be a sucker! Don't do business with Go Daddy!

On Tuesday the 20th my site was working 100%. On Wednesday when I awoke, I went to my site and lo and behold, it's not there.
I logged into my Hosting company (Godaddy) and what I saw made me sick. Most of the programming files were deleted and the entire database was gone. So I called Godaddy, and of course they told me it was just my site and offered no explanation. Later in the day I found out that over 500 accounts were taken down, and Godaddy still denied it. So they tell me how to restore my files which I did, but the db was totally corrupted, some of the db backups wouldn't even load into the restore program. Long story short, They restored my site to the 15th, but it still didn't work. I spoke to tons of knuckleheads at Godaddy and they don't know their asse's from their elbows. So, now the site is working at about 70%. Some of the customers get links while others do not, I can't access my control panel and can't do any maintenance on the site. Finally 2 days ago, someone from their 'senior' help desk called and told me I should re-install my shopping cart. I told him that was not an option unless they want to pay for it. The OS Commerce files won't even work unless you configure it correctly which I don't know how to do, plus my site is highly customized.
So now I have my programmer looking at the files and we're in the process of moving to a new host. A major expense and nightmare. I have both of my sites hosted there, and I have 44 domain names registered there. I'm going to move them all. It's obvious to me that the owner of Godaddy a Bob Parsons is too busy shooting elephants in Africa and sponsoring NASCAR to hire competent people to work for him and to upgrade his hardware. When I get this all done, I am going to demand a refund from them and I'm going to post my experiences with their helpdesk all over the net.

Godaddy is an utter waste and stupid. Good for Domains but never for hosting. They need 16-17 hours to reply to a support ticket. The hosting never sets up on time... Got Fed up.
