iPowerWeb Reviews

by L.M. on March 24th, 2011 at 8:18 PM CDT
I feel really taken by them and stupid for continuing to pay them. I have been with them for 3 years+ and have had the worst customer service in the entire hosting world. They simply don't care. Bottom line. They are available but it is just a body to cover the phone.

Billing made a mistake AGAIN. I am on automatic pay with my credit card. I review my bank statement, saw I had paid and did not think anything else. Apparently, accounting made a mistake and added a warning sign to the check-out that this site might be a copy and a fraud - thus customers were not purchasing. It was during the holidays and I was traveling so i did not catch it right away. A loyal customer pointed out the problem. I emailed ipower and after 18 hours of back and forth they finally got it. Another waste of 2 working days.

And my final complaint is my website is constantly down at least for 15 minutes monthly. I have had enough. Stay away ... no RUN.

It's just terrible. Here's how my triennial billing:
I get an email that says I'm being automatically charged for $250+ for my service.
That seems expensive, since I have ONE MONTH before my service is up, I call and talk to a customer rep. Says for 3 years, that's the deal. I do some research, and find they have a 90$ deal for two years, so I call up and ask for this package--I sign up.

I check my credit card statement, and I'm charged for both, 250 AND 90.00. I call, they promise a refund. I check again, and I'm charged for 250+90+ANOTHER 90?! No, I'm not making this up.

After 2 days of talking to different people who are no help (it just seems like they don't have an organized system--their phones can't even transfer calls?!)

So, here I am. Visa rec'ed that I cancel my card (its billed to my debit, so I'm 10 business days without access to atms) and I FINALLY decided to change servers.

There's better service out there. Trust me, I work in design and have worked some good ones.

I used this service and had to cancel several years ago. IF they have improved great but I would be very careful relying on this company. I was provided poor service, terrible follow-up and had to get my states consumer protection department involved to resolve it all; in the mean time my business website was unreachable.....sound like fun????? Not to me.
