I was shocked when I read this comment from an ex-employee at Network Solutions and know I will never use or recommend them again:
”I worked for Network Solutions in their hosting department and at first it was not so bad. As time went by, it became obvious that our goal was to fill clients credit cards with junk.
Their servers are the slowest I’ve ever seen and their databases were so slow the customer’s connection would always time out. It got really bad when I learned that most of what I was trying to fix was impaired on purpose just to get people to call in so we can up sell them.
To make your sales goal you would have to trick clients into buying hosting for 3 years by saying it’s only 9.96 per month then bill them for 3 years.
The kicker was email. We would take down email all the time. If the client had orders coming through their email they would call in all panicky and we would get a big up sell.
All upper Mgmt at Network Solutions are sales men who would sell crack to there own baby for cash. High sales is everything. You receive rewards for sales, but never for fixing clients problems or just plain taking care of the customer. I’ve seen so many accounts of old ladies who were up to their ears in debt because we over sold them and they trusted us.
Of course I was fired for spending to much time on a call trying to fix a clients mess we gave them.”
Guys, don’t put up with this nonsense. I would steer clear of Network Solutions for a while until they get their business in order. I recommend top level hosts like StartLogic or IX Web Hosting.

Hi, I've been a webmaster for many years and have experience with many of the top web hosting providers out there. I have thoroughly reviewed and rated the
They should stick with domain registrations and leave the hosting to others. Their customer service is practically non existant. They could not answer simple questions such as path locations without going on to the next level of support and it took DAYS to hear from the higher level. Their knowledge base links produce one error page after another and if you do finally view pages they have conflicting information on them depending what item you clicked. Their knowledge base articles state to go to the developer for help with one of heir online scripts and the developer’s help files do not relate to their hacked version of the script. Truly a hairpulling experience just to get a few simple scripts running.
Okay,
I am TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED WITH NETWORK SOLUTIONS!!! DO NOT—I REPEAT–DO NOT UTILIZE THEIR SERVICE!! I purchased the Standard Package and no sooner than I did this about two months later my father had a stroke which took all of my focus off of my website/business and directed it toward my father and his health. Needless to say, I took the first flight out to be with and assist my father in his recovery process. Anyone who has ever dealt with illness and possible death of someone in your family can attest to the mental drain and strain it puts on you and your family. Well, I am happy to say that my father is doing much better. However, upon my return home, I got in contact with Network Solutions to find out if they could extend the length of my contract because of what happened and they emphatically told me NO they could not extend my contract. I TRULY FIND THIS TO BE HEARTLESS!!! I PAID THEM APPROXIMATELY $160.00 FOR NOTHING—THEY TOOK MY MONEY AND BASICALLY SAID, “WE DON’T CARE ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU…TOO BAD…THIS IS NOT OUR PROBLEM.” I BELIEVE BEFORE BUSINESS, IN JUST PLAIN OLD HUMAN KINDNESS AND FAIRNESS. I DID NOT EVEN HAVE A CHANCE TO BUILD MY WEBSITE. NOW HONESTLY, DO YOU THINK I WOULD PURPOSELY PURCHASE A WEBSITE AND NOT PUT IT TO GOOD USE IF I DIDN’T HAVE GOOD CAUSE NOT TO?!
NETWORK SOLUTIONS—-YOU STINK—WHAT A KIND SUPPORTIVE GROUP OF HUMAN BEINGS YOU ARE—NOT!!! YOU SHOULD REALLY TAKE NOTES AND LEARN FROM THE MASTER OF CUSTOMER SERVICE….STARBUCKS!!! LEARN!!!
I waned to officially jump on this bandwagon and state that NetworkSolutions for web/email hosting has got to be the worst host I have come across in over 10 years of working with the internet.
I just recently switched to NetSol due to problems at my current host, after they were bought out
by a larger company, and ended up with the new owner’s traffic related problems.
In thinking that switching to NetSol would make things better/faster/more reliable, I went over to NetSol and prepared to “switch” my services to NetSol after the end of business day Friday (yes Yesterday).
For those of you who know “how things work” you know your biggest problem, after changing hosts is DNS Propagation, right?
Well guess what, NetSol was already managing my DNS so that part at least internally to NetSol and the major DNS servers, should have been “easy” and guess what, it was!
What’s the problem?
Although I have the “internal” address to my site/server WITHIN the netsol network, and every DNS server I check on has the new IP’s/HOSTS WITHIN NetSol, NetworkSolutions is NOT able to get the site accessible within their own network, with their own DNS servers?!?!?!??!
Does that make any sense?
I have had my share of hosts in over 10 years, for myself as well as my clients. It makes no sense that a site, internal to ANY host has all of the DNS servers pointing to it, and can’t have the site/email available?!?!??!
After calling NetSol several times, during the switch over process (and of course, only speaking with the overseas call center in India) and all I could get was “It will take 24-48 hours for the site/services to be available”.
I even ran them through the paces,
(1) The internal site is running
(2) NetSol DNS servers are pointing to NetSol hosting services
(3) Most public DNS servers are pointing to NetSol hosting
(4) The site would be working at any other host
THEY AGREED! Can you imagine?????
Anyhow… what I plan to do now is wait the switch over, switch to their Advanced DNS Services, which will then make additional changes in DNS records/hosting much quicker, get another host, and switch away from NetSol in the next week or two…
Sheesh, you think you go with the “best” and you get the “worst”.
Also…. Their “hosting control panel” has got to be the biggest joke I have ever seen, let me know if you want to know about that.
I have totally had it with Network Solutions! I run a small car enthusiast club in the midwest and a local forum with about 140 members. About 3 months ago, my site was shutdown by NetSol without so much as a warning. After about 5 calls, they finally told me that they had shut my site down because one of our members sent out 45,000 emails in one day.
Of course this never happened. Obviously we were infected by some type of virus or worm that did that. It was a malicious code that was injected into our system some how, but NetSol just said, you need to fix the problem. None of us are real computer code experts, but we assumed that the problem was just an error.
After 4 days(evidently when you call them, they have a standard procedure that says they must contact you within 1 to 3 days!) They did just that, and after they tell you what the problem is, you have to wait another 1 to 3 days.
You cant talk to a person, you have to let the tech support person “escalate” the case. Which basically means NOTHING. I ended up calling them three times a day, and all the same thing. Our customer support team will call you when we know something.
So instead of being down for a few hours our site was down for 4 days. No apology or nothing.
That was three months ago… this WHOLE THING, just happened again on Monday, we actually DID find the bad code this time, we deleted it, told NETSOL, and do you think they would check it out in a few hours, NOOOO… 3 more days!
So for those looking for a web host… STAY AWAY FROM NETWORK SOLUTIONS!
Control pannel is joke, PHP another joke, hosting doesn’t run index.php as default page. SSI - none. MySQL - if anyone found it let me know.
WOW! I was about to try network solutions but after I read all this negative reviews from ex customers and ex employees I change my mind, I wonder why this hosting company still on bussines, how come nobody report them to BBB.org ?
